Jernbro’s precautions to
prevent the spread of Covid-19

1) How does Jernbro avoid Covid-19 at workplaces?
a) We follow and remind each other of the decisions and recommendations given from the Public Health Agency and the Government Offices, as well as Jernbro’s precautionary measures below. It’s important to know that Covid-19 is a generally dangerous and socially dangerous disease according to the Infection Control Act and that you are therefore obliged to follow rules of conduct to prevent the spread of infection.

b) We stay at home when we feel sick, such as fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, headache, muscle and joint pain. These are also typical symptoms of Covid-19, according to the Public Health Agency.

c) We wash our hands often with soap and warm water. We provide hand alcohol and mouth protection in workplaces and to our employees where necessary. We cough and sneeze in the armpit or paper. We avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.

d) We avoid physical meetings, trainings and conferences that are not business critical. Meetings are preferably conducted digitally.

e) When in a need of physical meetings, the person responsible for the meeting makes a risk analysis and assessment of whether it’s possible to carry out the meeting and makes a decision accordingly.

f) Internal meetings are located in places where the majority of participants can travel by car in a reasonable time. Participants who don’t manage this must have the opportunity to participate digitally.

g) Public transport should be avoided as far as possible to and from work and physical meetings

h) Business trips should not be made to countries and areas that the Ministry for Foreign Affairs advises not to travel to at any time. Business trips to other countries and areas must be approved by the CEO.

i) We work at home if possible with regard to professional role, customers and employees (must be approved by the immediate manager).

j) We keep our distance from people we don’t work with on a daily basis in public areas such as lunch rooms, meeting rooms, workshops, etc. If necessary, the room is adapted to be able to keep distance.

2. How do Jernbro follow and comply with the customers’ restrictions?
The responsible manager or project manager at Jernbro collects information about the customers’ restrictions due to Covid-19 and is responsible for our employees following these.

3. In the event that an employee who works for a customer shows signs of a cold
The customer and the employee’s manager consult and decide whether he or she can work from home or need to report sick leave. In the latter case, a decision is made as to whether another resource needs to be deployed while the person is on sick leave. Symptoms according to 1b) are always indicative.

4. In the event that staff or visitors who are suspected of being infected or have been found infected have stayed in Jernbro’s premises
If there is a suspicion that staff or visitors with Covid-19 have stayed in a Jernbro premises, the persons who have stayed in the premises must be sent home. The room must then be cleaned with standard cleaning methods by cleaning staff. Common contact surfaces (chairs, tables, handles, machine surfaces, etc.) are disinfected. Staff return to work as soon as this has been done.

5. What if an employee is in or has been in an infected area or has been in contact with a person who has recently been in an affected area?
Under no circumstances may the employee return to work and must contact their manager. In consultation with HR, a decision is made as to whether the employee should return to work.

6. What if an employee is considering traveling abroad?
Jernbro recommends that its employees follow the advice from the Government Offices regarding travel and completely refrain from unnecessary travel abroad. At present, they advise against travel to a number of areas with widespread infection. If the employee nevertheless completes his journey, the employee may under no circumstances return to work after returning home without first contacting his manager.

7. Are employees allowed to stay at home on pay for fear of becoming infected?
a) No, but an agreement can be made to work from home, if it’s possible with regard to the professional role and acceptable with regard to customers and colleagues with whom he works.

b) If the employee can show a medical certificate proving that he belongs to a risk group for covid-19 and therefore risks becoming seriously ill, he can, in the period 01.07.20 until 3.04.21, stay at home and receive compensation from the Social Insurance Agency. Employees have the right to stay at home if they don’t have the opportunity to work from home and if Jernbro can’t offer other tasks within the framework of the employment and if it’s not possible to adapt the work situation so the spread of infection can be avoided.

8. What if an employee has tested positive for Covid-19?
If the employee has taken a test that shows that he has covid-19, he must be at home for at least seven days, counted from the day he got symptoms. If the employee for some reason has been sampled despite not having symptoms, seven days are counted from the day he took the test. The employee must also have been fever-free and symptom-free for at least two days. The employee receives detailed information from the healthcare system about rules of conduct in accordance with current infection tracking routines.

9. What if an employee has been tested negative for Covid-19?
The employee can return to work as soon as he feels healthy again and has no fever.

10. What if an employee has symptoms but has not been tested for Covid-19?
If an employee has symptoms that pass quickly and can’t be explained by any other known cause (for example migraine or allergy), he still needs to stay at home and be completely symptom-free for at least 2 days before returning to work. This is to make sure that the symptoms were really temporary.

If for any reason the employee has not been tested for Covid-19, even though he has had symptoms for more than one day, which cannot be explained by any other known cause, he can return to work seven days after he had symptoms if he feels good and been fever-free for at least two days.

11. What if an employee lives in the same household as someone who has been found infected?
The employee is covered by rules of conduct and will contact the infection tracker and receive information about what applies. Decisions about rules of conduct are made by doctors. After the doctor’s decision, the employee must stay at home for at least seven days, but be tested after five. The employee must contact their manager if he is contacted by an infection tracker.

12. How should an employee act if he/she needs to stay home because his/hers children have symptoms?
We recommend that the same parent / person stays home, in order to avoid possible spread of infection, which can occur if different people stay at home. Under no circumstances may the person return to work without first contacting their manager.

13. What applies to visitors, hired staff, subcontractors and others who are at Jernbro’s operations and offices?
Managers or project managers are responsible for ensuring that the said parties are informed of Jernbro’s precautionary measures. Prior to visits, people are asked if they have cold symptoms. If this is the case, Jernbro’s precautions will be taken.

14. What applies to hired domestic and foreign labor?
a) The person responsible for hiring labor at Jernbro is responsible for ensuring that the said parties are informed about your company’s precautionary measures as well as Jernbro’s.

b) The person responsible for hiring labor at Jernbro must contact the company in question and obtain a written certificate showing that the persons who are to work on your behalf are not infected, have not stayed in risk areas in the past month and have not been in contact with people who have stayed in risk areas.

c) When hiring foreign labor, our responsible party must inform about what applies to travelers to Sweden. We normally work with contractors from Poland and the Czech Republic, which is why it is possible to demand that they avoid public transport. In addition, it is of course good if the contractor’s staff is planned for as long, cohesive stay in Sweden as possible.
