At Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions AB, Jernbro has completed a large painting project of 50 sqm. It’s beams and metal roofs adjacent to the production halls that have been painted. Several spaces were very cramped, so Jernbro’s painter had to use his acrobatic skills.
The space before the painting
Before the actual painting could begin, important preparatory work needed to be done in form of covering and blasting. When blasting, it’s important to have very careful coverage, so that sand and dust do not spread out in the production halls and the production line. Rust and old fragments are removed by spraying fine sand with a very high pressure on all iron surfaces. Once everything is blasted, all sand is cleaned off with the help of extraction and suction trucks. The finishing work is thus, like the preparatory work, a large part of the blasting work.
When the cleaning is done, you need to start painting immediately, as the surfaces can start to rust the day after the blasting is completed. Therefore, it’s important to quickly get on the first layer of 2-component paint on all 50 square meters.

The space after the painting
Dan Carlgrip also said that it was only when the protections were taken down that he and his colleagues saw how good it was. Because the covering work was so carefully done before the blasting and painting, they had until then gone with a headlamp to be able to see where they put their feet and brushstrokes.
– Jernbro has previously mainly helped us on the pipe side. But I appreciate that they could now also help us on the maintenance side. I am satisfied with the work and I think that it has gone smoothly and according to plan, says Kristina Karlsson, maintenance manager at Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions AB.
