The cement manufacturer SCHWENK Sverige AB had certain requirements that they wanted a new partner in maintenance and service to meet. Jernbro was able to pinpoint the requirements and therefore the parties signed a cooperation agreement this spring.

– It’s important for us to have high operational reliability and clear traceability in the form of maintenance plans and reliable key figures. We also want to move from working with remedial maintenance to working more and more with preventive maintenance, says Ann-Louise Grahed, Logistics Manager at SCHWENK Sverige AB.

– We give preventive work in health and safety a high priority at our terminals in order to reduce the risk of accidents and ill health. Therefore, qualified staff with the right training and a company with quality certifications, were important parameters in the search for a new partner, Ann-Louise continues.

Jernbro met SCHWENK’s criteria and was able to offer a long-term collaboration that is largely based on trust.

SchwenkDeliveries to SCHWENK’s customers take place via automated terminals in Landskrona, Halmstad, Surte and Västerås. An automated terminal means that drivers from specific hauliers, who are approved and trained in advance, can enter the terminals and load.

For the automated process to work, a well-functioning ongoing mechanical maintenance is required. In order for Jernbro to be able to perform this maintenance in a safe way, a certain number of people have been trained and approved to work at the terminals. The maintenance work is carried out according to a scheduled plan. If necessary, emergency remedial maintenance is also carried out.

The assignment also involves finding improvement measures for the machines to work better over time. In this work, Jernbro’s digital system support provides useful comparative data that, after analysis, can show machine improvement possibilities at the terminals.

– The advantages of digital system support are that we can easily follow what is planned and what maintenance has been performed. We appreciate that we can get a good overview of where any recurring problems are and to be able to change and improve this, says Ann-Louise.

Since June, maintenance work on the terminals has been handled by Jernbro’s qualified staff. Through improved maintenance measures, SCHWENK looks forward to less urgent repairs and improved preventive maintenance.

– We give preventive work in health and safety a high priority at our terminals in order to reduce the risk of accidents and ill health. Therefore, qualified staff with the right training and a company with quality certifications, were important parameters in the search for a new partner, Ann-Louise continues.
