Daniel Larsson is stationed at one of Jernbro’s larger customers in Luleå, where he works as a pipe welder. His main task is to maintain pipes as well as replace and manufacture new pipelines.

– The work is constantly ongoing, because there are many pipe systems that need to be renewed. The maintenance work means that we replace old, rusty pipes with new ones in order to maintain safe and efficient operation.

In his daily work, Daniel has close contact with the customer and he appreciates the problem solving that the work entails. When a pipe needs to be repaired or replaced, he and his colleagues go out to measure and inspect the damage on site. In most cases, the replacement parts are manufactured in the workshop, but sometimes adjustments need to be made directly on site.

– For example, when we discover a burst pipe, we try to understand the cause. It could be that the pipe has frozen and then we not only try to fix it, but also investigate how we can prevent it, so it doesn’t happen again. It is important to have a good dialogue with the customer, so we can offer solutions that are long-term and efficient, saving both time and costs.

Daniel thinks he has built a good relationship with the customer and he has understood that the problem-solving approach is appreciated.

– My boss is an important mentor who has given me the opportunity to grow in my role. He has pushed me and given me new tasks that have made me develop and take on greater responsibilities. For example, I have taken a supervisor course and been asked to be a supervisor for school youth and apprentices. It’s fun to be a part of other people’s development.

– I learn something new every day from my colleagues, because they are extremely knowledgeable and talented. I am part of a nice group with good cohesion. Sometimes colleagues from other departments also come to Jernbro and help with larger jobs, which also contributes to a good working climate.

When Daniel started at Jernbro, he got a good impression of the company and saw opportunities for personal development and new experiences within a large industry. In combination with challenging and varied tasks, Daniel looks positively on the future at Jernbro.

– It is safe to work for a serious company with knowledgeable managers. There is a culture here that encourages development and if you want to take on more responsibility, you get the opportunity.
