INDUSTRIAL POWER MODULES (IPM)
– switchgear, power and charging modules in container format
WHAT IS A CONTAINERISED POWER MODULE?
A containerised power module is a complete power solution where switchgear, transformers, and control systems are integrated into a portable container.
The solution is used to quickly establish or reinforce power supply in industry, energy projects, and infrastructure – without extensive construction or long installation processes.
With containerised power modules, you get a flexible and scalable solution that can be installed quickly and adapted to changing needs over time.
WHY CHOOSE IPM from Jernbro?
We develop customized solutions quickly based on experience, established concepts, and an extensive library of previous projects.
Once the design is finalized, we proceed directly to production with standardized and quality-assured solutions.
The modules are built efficiently in our workshops using lean principles and experienced technicians.
Our solutions are based on experience, continuous improvement, and high technical expertise.
WHAT IS IPM?
Industrial Power Modules (IPM) is Jernbro’s concept for containerised switchgear and power modules that can also integrate charging solutions for the electrification of industry and infrastructure. All necessary equipment is integrated, tested, and verified before delivery.
Each IPM is built in a robust ISO container where all electrical, control, and safety equipment is integrated.
BUILT FOR DEMANDING ENVIRONMENTS
Our containerised switchgear and power modules are developed to perform where requirements are truly stringent:
- High demands on availability and safety
- Cold and varying temperatures
- Corrosive environments such as ports and offshore
- Vibrations from industrial operations
INDUSTRIES WHERE IPM MAKES A DIFFERENCE
IPM can be adapted for multiple types of environments where power, charging, or temporary switchgear needs to be established quickly and safely.

Maritime
Ferry charging, shore power, and power modules for vessel-side operations.

Offshore
Power modules for rigs, FPSOs, and marine installations with high demands for robustness and operational reliability.

Energy & grids
Temporary switchgear, grid reinforcement, and backup solutions during maintenance or expansion.

Heavy industry
Power modules for mines, construction projects, and infrastructure where capacity, redundancy, or temporary power is required.

Logistics & ports
Power and charging infrastructure for terminals, depots, electric vehicles, and electrified equipment.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS and answers
A containerised power and charging module is a pre-built and tested solution for power distribution, installed in a standard container. It can contain switchgear, transformers, control systems, and other electrical equipment – ready for immediate operation upon delivery.
IPM is particularly advantageous when time, space, or accessibility are limited. For temporary needs, capacity increases, or projects with short timeframes, a container solution can reduce both lead times and installation work compared to building new on-site.
The delivery time for a containerised power module is normally in the range of 3–6 months from order, depending on the scope, customizations, and technical requirements.
Since the module is built and tested in a factory, on-site installation and commissioning can take place quickly and efficiently, minimizing business interruptions compared to traditional site-built solutions.
Yes, IPM can be integrated with charging solutions for the electrification of vehicles, machinery, and industrial processes. This enables rapid establishment of charging capacity without extensive construction.
Yes. Each power module is customized based on the customer’s needs, power requirements, and environment. At the same time, we build on standardized concepts to ensure quality, shorter delivery times, and high operational reliability.
By building and testing the modules in a controlled environment, the risk of errors during installation is reduced. The result is a more predictable and stable operation compared to site-built solutions.
Yes. Our containerised power modules are designed to withstand demanding industrial environments, including cold, heat, vibrations, and corrosive conditions.
Yes. Jernbro offers service, maintenance, and support throughout the entire lifecycle – from installation to ongoing operation, ensuring long-term function and availability.
