400 welds – zero defects…
Over several phases, Jernbro has carried out major assignments involving pre-insulated pipes for industrial customers.
In 2023 and 2024, we delivered a total of more than two kilometres of pipe in the materials PE100, 316L and SAF2507.
The data below is from the most recently completed project in 2025.
Challenge
The project included prefabrication of special components, which subsequently had to be sent to a subcontractor for foaming and adaptation within a very short timeframe.
Installation during the winter period also required covering and heating prior to welding.
At the same time, 100% internal weld inspection (RVT) required daily waiting time for a third party.
Solution
We assembled an experienced team and shared knowledge across locations to ensure progress in line with the customer’s schedule.
In addition, we developed modified pull carts for welding generators and orbital welders, enabling the work to be brought forward in areas without vehicle access.
Results
A total of 400 welds were completed, all of which were approved by a third party in accordance with stringent colour requirements in pharma-related installations.
The project followed a tight schedule, which we got ahead of from the outset and maintained despite delays in material deliveries.
