HISTORY and milestones

BUILT ON DECADES of industrial expertise

Even though the Jernbro brand is young, our roots run deep in Swedish industry. Our history begins with the operations that grew out of Sköfde Gjuteri & Mekaniska Verkstad, founded in 1868 – a pioneer in Swedish manufacturing. Over the decades, that business has evolved, adapted and advanced, yet always with the same core purpose: ensuring reliability, efficiency and technological progress for industry.

Throughout the years, Jernbro has taken shape as major industrial companies spun off their internal maintenance organisations, and through the acquisition of several strong entrepreneur-driven companies within industrial services, repairs and manufacturing. Each company has contributed valuable expertise and experience – together forming the solid foundation Jernbro stands on today.

KEY MILESTONES – building the Jernbro of today

By welcoming Veltec in Denmark and Norway, Jernbro became a true Scandinavian group – bringing even more expertise in complex industrial projects.

GISAB’s strong industrial know-how in the north of Sweden added new strength and broadened our ability to support demanding customers in heavy industry.

By letting go of parts outside our core, we strengthened our focus on what matters most: industrial maintenance, projects, and solutions that ensure uptime and reliability.

2019 was a turning point: Veolia Industrial Maintenance brought new competence and capacity, while strong ownership from Blue Water Energy gave momentum to our next growth phase.

New ownership laid the foundation for building Jernbro as an independent company, ready to grow and expand its role in Scandinavian industry.

The Jernbro brand is born as Coor Industrial Services separates from Coor. With a new name and identity, Jernbro stepped forward as an independent company – with decades of expertise already behind us.

The acquisition of Euromaint’s industrial business added new technical skills and broadened the base for future Jernbro services.

Bringing in SAPA Industriservice meant adding valuable industrial expertise and closer ties to key Swedish industries.

Under new ownership, Coor sharpened its focus on industrial services, setting the stage for the growth journey that would eventually become Jernbro.

This was the true starting point of our modern history – when Volvo’s internal service operations became part of Coor and laid the foundation for what is today Jernbro.
