CorPower Ocean develops wave power with Jernbro’s precision and creativity

Challenge
CorPower Ocean needed a flexible and skilled manufacturing partner who could handle short lead times and tight tolerances for unique, high-strength steel components which are essential for their first full-scale wave energy buoy, CorPower C4.

Solution
Jernbro’s workshop in Avesta produced several complex parts for the buoy using advanced machining techniques and bodywork setups. With close collaboration, direct dialogue with CorPower’s designers, and fast turnarounds, sometimes within the same day, Jernbro ensured that the challenging components met both cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
− Jernbro has supported us 100%. They react fast, are creative, and never back down from a tough challenge, says Thomas Lindahl, Senior Purchasing and Quality Engineer at CorPower Ocean.

Results
The partnership enabled CorPower Ocean to keep its project on schedule. With Jernbro’s support, the company could move forward with the launch of its first full-scale prototype in Portugal. Jernbro’s ability to deliver complex, high-tolerance parts quickly has been a key factor in the project’s success. It also plays an important role in CorPower’s continued development of future buoys for the upcoming wave energy park.
