Challenge
NorRens’ end customers wanted sludge treatment solutions with the latest technology. The goal was to achieve more efficient thickening, lower energy consumption, and better sludge quality compared to older equipment.
Solution
Jernbro delivered sludge thickening machines (BT) that combine modern technology with proven reliability. The machines thicken biological chemical sludge up to 5%, which is then dewatered in decanter centrifuges to over 25% dry matter content. With low polymer consumption (often below 3 kg/ton TS) and excellent reject water quality (<100 mg/ss/liter), the solution provides both environmental and economic benefits.
Before delivery, Jernbro’s experts analyzed the sludge and conducted polymer tests to guarantee performance. This ensured the right machine selection and optimal process setup for the plant.
Results
The end customer achieved improved sludge quality, reduced energy use, and lower operating costs. The new machines also provided flexibility, with capacity for continuous operation if needed.
